Summary

IT Manager

Rubicon Organics’ HQ is in downtown Vancouver with a hybrid greenhouse based in Delta B.C. The Greenhouse Facility is fully planted with an identified demand for 11,000 kg/year capacity. We’ve had many successful harvests, are starting on our Outdoor Grow and have recently received our Sales license. Simply Bare Organic, our flagship brand launched in December 2019 to rave reviews.

With a growing team, our state-of-the-art facility and remote workforce is seeking a strong IT Manager to scale up our systems, processes and technologies as we go into a major growth phase in the super-premium organic cannabis space.

Purpose of the IT Manager role

The IT Manager at Rubicon Organics will be responsible for leading both system and networking initiatives including infrastructure, design, maintenance and ticketing at our growing Delta Facility, including remote support for downtown and field staff. This is a huge opportunity to grow in a fast-paced start-up, in a brand-new industry.

  • An agile, hands on leader of cross functional teams, with a passion for IT
  • Someone with the ability to manage multiple complex projects from design to implementation, including project delivery
  • A networking & support expert who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty and get curious on the regular

Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with departmental managers to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network
  • Monitor changing network technology and deliver a technology update to the executive team each quarter
  • Develop innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
  • Responsible for creating and administering disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
  • Determine the rationale and methods for upgrading company network software programs each time an update is released
  • Ensure ERP/Facility Data Tracking
  • Design the right architecture and processes for networks, ticketing, document management, hardware/software management and upgrades
  • Support operations by maintaining and improving on IT initiatives
  • Consider cost reduction strategies (future)
  • Perform other IT projects as needed

What You Need

  • Bachelor' Degree in IT or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in information technology management
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology
  • Vendor Management Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Tools
  • Experience with both Mac & PC Hardware
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills required
