Rubicon Organics facilities in Canada and Washington state have recently been licensed, enabling us to bring our portfolio of Super Premium Organic Cannabis brands to market in the second half of 2019. Consequently, we are recruiting an outstanding Digital Specialist (social media & content) to develop our social media and content strategy using analytics and insights. 

Purpose of the Digital Specialist role 

Use your knowledge of the digital space including strategic online content marketing and social media marketing to move the brand(s) to the next level. While technical knowledge is important in this role, the ultimate focus is on the optimisation of digital platforms with the user in mind, in order to recruit new consumers and drive engagement.

  • Use analytics and insights to develop and implement the social and content strategy
  • Embedding critical metrics that through regular monitoring will constantly redefine/optimise tactics, and investment along the way 
  • Use analytics to identify opportunities for optimising and improving content across digital channels 


  • To develop a robust social media and content strategy, encompassing written and visual elements 
  • By providing insight into what types of content works on various social / digital platforms, create content in line with the brand’s tone of voice, advising on suitable channels and methods of communication (bring ideas to life, through articles, infographics, videos, imagery and other forms of content pieces) 
  • Overseeing the execution of content across all digital channels in order to ensure that the consumer engagement is optimised, and that all our platforms deliver content excellence (effectively listens to its consumers; curates content; engages with consumers and converts them to both visit and generate revenue) 
  • Keep abreast of best in class activity 
  • Use analytics to identify opportunities for optimising and improving content across digital channels 
  • Provide strategic insights from research into the social media behaviour in each market and use this information to build social and content strategies 
  • Identifying and manage partners (including digital agency, freelancers and various suppliers), negotiating contracts and managing stakeholder relationships 
  • Create reports to guide the content strategy 

What You Need 

  • A Marketing or Business degree or equivalent qualification with a strong eMarketing course component 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Digital Marketing position, including the management of Social Media platforms and campaigns (essential) 
  • Must have knowledge of web analytics and ability to take initiative and improvise based on analytics 
  • Ability to develop a social media strategy and work with partners to develop well written and relevant content 
  • Advanced computer literacy (working knowledge of HTML, Java or any website coding, will be advantageous)
